skimmer water milky white

i added my salt to my 29 gallon tank about 5 hours ago and the water in my skimmer is milky white and the skimmer is letting alot of bubbles out. the skimmer is only a couple days old is this part of the break in process of the skimmer and why is the water so white inside the skimmer?

u shouldn't have the skimmer on during ur cycle.. nothing bad to skim
