Just out of curiousity!
The smaller reef tanks are sure appealing, thus my choice but, if I decide to go a bit bigger, can I suspend my 24inch coralife aqualite PC 130Watt over top of say a 33 gallon? that still gives me close to 4 watts per gallon :D
Thanx

smaller reef tanks are harder to maintain, as minor changes in the water chemistry are a big deal. with more water volume, these changes to chemistry are diluted and thus have a lesser impact on the reef system.

Is it a 33 gallon bowfront? I ask because that's a weird capacity, and most 30gallon tanks are 30-36" long. But, in short, yes you could put the coralife fixture over the tank. 4wpg is enough for several types of soft corals like mushrooms.

Thanks Malkore,
I am concerned about the edges of the tank where the light may not be bright. If that is the case I guess I can just stock accordingly.
IfoundNemo, 3 to 5 watts per gallon is what most recommend.
