Hmm... Mine don't seem to like the glass too much. I'm pretty sure they are Astreas...

Most snails self right. You chose one of the few that don't. Easy to do as I did it too. Really careful acclimation also seems to help.

my snails are fine. None died. Nothing tipped them over but themselves. As a matter of fact, while in the algae ridden(diatoms I'm assuming) display, they would only come out of their shells to flip themselves.
Now that they are out of the tank, they are always out, cruising for food. They are in the same water though, no parameter has changed.

Snail Tipping Culprit!

Sounds like diatom poisoning? Proof is they got themselves together when moved to a different part of the system .

Another important bit of info- these were both astrea and turbo snails, in case you didn't read back.

Hmm... I just got rid of the last of my diatoms the other day, and now they seem happy as ever... That may be it.. My LFS advertised them as "Turbo Snails" and not "Astrea Turbos". When you look it up they look nothing like normal turbos though.

Astrea and turbo are two different snails.

Right, mine are Astreas, but they were advertised as Turbos because my LFS are. Stupid.

Snail Tipping Culprit!

This is a pretty good thread on the topic:

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...p/t-13500.html

This seems to suggest starvation , not diatoms is the problem.

Starvation... Hmm... Well I know mine will eat pellets left on the floor though because I've seen it.
