I had one of my Astrea snails die a couple days ago. Today i noticed two of the nassarius snails feeding on it i have never seen this. Is it normal for snail to feed on dead snails?

Thanks in advance Dewey

I think most snails will eat whatever they can. My snails will eat other snails after they've died or been killed by hermits or whatever else.

The key is nassarius, they are often referred to as detrivorous, but they are actually carrionivores, meaning they eat rotton dead flesh, like vultures. They do not kill to get their food, which is why they are safe for our tanks and extremely beneficial.
