softened R/O Water

Okay I have had a R/O D/I 5 stage system from Aqua FX up & running. We just added a whole house water softener. The literature says that you should not use the softened water for plants. It got me thinking, is it okay to use it (after being R/Oed) for my SW reef tank?

The RO unit is supposed to take the salt (or water a water softener uses) mostly out of the water. I have never heard of a problem with water from softener that goes through an RO unit.

(but don't take my word for it)
