Sorry I did a search but could not find anything...if this was already posted plz accept my apologies...

My tank has been up for about 3 months now...everythin goin good have some brown algae that grows on the glass and sand/rock from time to time but nuthin big...well now I am noticing little patches of green algae on my rock...is this " healthy" algae or should i be scared? thanks!

There are lots of things you can do.

My tank is 3 months old also. I've gone through and am still going through the normal algea out breaks. if you do your best to control it you'll be better off.

Do you use RO water?
I didnt see a protien skimmer in your sig.
whats your lighting situation, how long do you leave'em on?
Have you checked you phospahte ?
how often do you do water changes?

For starters I would:
get some more snails.
Dont over feed.
Do a few more waterchanges.
Cut down your light time
test your phosphate levels

There are some really good threads on this, Try the search again to find them.
Some are recent.

Good Luck

Mucho gracias...yeah no skimmer...and lights on about 11-12 hours a day..sometimes more..i think i need to buy a timer...lighting is basic, what came with kit...so i need an upgrade with that...phosphate levels i am unsure about, but i could do more water changes and i could cut down on the light...than k you for your suggestions! :D
