Something digging gullies in sand

I have something digging huge gullies in my sand the last few days....I have about an2inch sand bed and it digs to the bottom so I can see glass.....only thing added was a small 6" piece of live rock with some polyps on it. I have 3 damsels, 2 clowns, scooter blenny, yellow tang, 1 small blue leg hermit, 1 coral banded shrimp, and 2 smaller turbo snails.....any idea what could be doing this?

Probably a hitchhiker on the live rock. Pistol shrimp maybe? You ever hear any snaps, kinda like a loud rubber band snap? Usually it'll be at night, but not always.

Maybe? My clown doesn't dig at all, but I did see one in The store today that had dug out a small area, seemed to be hosting in that area of the tank. Lol

when you added the new LR, it might have changed your water movement pattern, move the new piece of LR and see if it continues

I think I have figured out it is the blue damsel.....I moved a rock in the spot where it was dug out and noticed about a hour later the damsel was fanning his tail to blow the sand out of a corner he was in......
