Something wrong with light- need to improvise with something

Something is wrong with my light, it makes a funky noise and takes forever to turn on (it "sizzles")

Anyway, I am guessing the light will arrive late next week.


All I have in there is some LR with coraline algae on it, and two percs.


What should I impovise with?

sizzles implys a short somewhere. Possibly mosture in the endcaps. The tank will be fine with no light ofr a few days. The best improvision would be to open the shades in the room for the tank to get any amibent light that might be in the room during the day.

OK.

I took it apart and did not see ANYTHING wrong with it.

The sound (it makes a little light as well, I am guessing sparks) is coming from the starter.
