Spectrometer

When you are using other hydrometer even they are off, you are measuring both the tank and the new salt water mix with the same readings. Would that make any difference? Also, the spectrometer needs calibration and it can also be off.
 
Yeah, we use refractometers. They need calibrated with the fluid they come with. I picked up a digital refractometer that needs less calibration and love it. I use it weekly and it keeps my salinity perfect. The salinity sometimes goes up, but never more then .01 and never above 27 or below 25.
