Splitting Corals?

I have split my leathers and was wondering I have 2 other corals that I can tell can be split but was wondering how I can attach them to a rock since I can't split the rock they are on? Thanks

a rubber band or something bendy that you can hold the coral onto the rock until it attaches itself to it..

Can I split a finger leather in half? Or at least cut some of the arms shorter? Thanks
