splitting yellow leather coral

Looking at the polyps on the top of it, it doesn't look like bad conditions. When leathers are upset they retract and look smooth.

I`m not trying to be the bearer of bad news but leathers dont split. They have to be fragged or cut to be split. Something is going on there. Keep a close eye out on it. You may have to give it an iodine bath if it gets worse.

He looks happy but I'll look into it. What kind of iodine would I use(drug store or aquarium grade) and how would I go about bathing it?
