Sponges?

Im not really ready yet for a sponge but i was considering gettin one later and was curious if they are hard to take care of? I know you CANNOT let them be exposed to the air but i cant seem to find much else on them. The only other thing i seem to ever see is that they need trace elements. Thanks for the opinions.

Sponges are filter feeders that need "dirtier" water than you can provide in your aquarium. I wouldn't choose a sponge as a reef tank inhabitant. There are many many other invertebrates that are interesting, beautiful, hardy, and fun to grow that will give you more satisfaction as a reef keeper.
IMO sponges are best left in the ocean.

I have 2 that came on my LR and love them...
If you expose em to ait just make sure to turn it upside down and squeeze a little to make sure the air is out is all...
