I'm working on a 115g display to replace my 55 and will probably be drilling the tank rather than using a hob overflow. My return pump is rated at 1300 gph with a head height of 14 feet. Head height to the tank will be about 48", so I don't think I'll be losing too much water flow from rated. Does anyone have a chart that shows what size standpipe to use for this kind of flow?

Also, what are folks using to keep fish from getting sucked in, without blocking the standpipe too much?
