I do not know much about saltwater tanks, as I keep freshwater, but I'm concerned. My friend's sisters are wanting to keep stingrays, but they won't tell me tank size or species. If anyone could shed some light on what size tank you would need for even small stingrays. Thanks!

A tank with very large footprint and mostly sand bed space. Something like a deep dimension 300 gallon.

Stingrays require very large tanks, over 100 gallons easily. They need to be kept in such systems with minimal rock, which is a major part of the biological filter in saltwater, and specialized sand so that they do not get their undersides cut up. Stingrays are quite difficult to keep and IMO not for someone's home aquarium.
