Anyone have any idea as to what these red-ish red specs are? They are everywhere. Is it the beginning stages of red slime bacteria?

90 Gallon SW, Reef.
20 Gallon Sump

PH=8.2, NO3 = 2.5, NO2=.1

Thanks!

Are you talking about the red stuff by your substrate? or the red and yellow specs on your glass/acrylic? If it's the stuff near the substrate then yes, it does look like cyano. the other stuff I have no idea.

Those look like flatworms. Convolutriloba retrogemma most likely. They are mostly harmless but may crawl on and shade corals. They eat pods around the tank and are very common.

The purple layer is however, the start of cyanobacteria.

How much do you feed?

Flatworms

Thanks everyone - I check out the link - definitely flatworms. I admit, I do overfeed. I need to cut back.

Thanks again - very helpful.
