someone suggested i use a scoop of gravel from a healthy established tank to help cycling to my suprise it (thesubstrate)has worms ressebing inch worms//good or bad?

Good. Most worms will be a benefit to your system.

I'm not sure that is going to help with cycling much...but it is good for your tank to get a population of those worms going in your tank.
