hi all maybee u can give me some advice here
i have a 90 gallon aga tank
and i need a heater so what i was thinking is ;
for my 20 g sump could i get away with a 100 w heater instead of the 300 watt heater needed for my 90
since the sump is a 20 the 100 would have no problems heating that.
what do u think?

thanks all

You would need enough heater to heat a total of 100+ gal of water. Just because your sump is 20 gal your still circulating the tanks water thru the sump therefor you still need the heater capacity to be that required for the total water volume of the system.

FF has it covered... Not sure what else there is to say but give it a try and see if it works, just keep an eye on the temp. I would go for at least a 150 if you can. Why not get the 300 one is it a $$$ thing?
And if you put the 300 in the sump it will heat both tank and sump so you don't need to have a heater in the tank looking ugly.
