I have a 75 gal reef tank with a 55 gal sump that is in my basement in the sump there is a protein skimmer that is caged in and i have some rock and a small canister filter in there as well i was wondering if i could put any cleaner shrimp or hermit crabs in the sump. With out killing them.

I would think that they would get sucked through the pump. I know that my iwaki40 pulls pretty hard. Is there a divider in the sump? I did have a couple curly cue anemones that were living in my sump for a few weeks. Idon't know how they made it past the divider, but they did...

With some kind of divider, it should be just fine. Same water, right? Do you have a light for it on a regular schedule? Places to hide would be good to (sounds like you have them).

i have some filter media inbetween the skimmer and pumps and LR the lighting is ok its not the best
