switching to 29 gallon

i have a 10 gallon tank, a few small soft corals like mushrooms and zooanth button polyp type stuff, live rock and no fish. ive been having problems with ph and have to add a buffer and iv edecided to switch to a 29 gallon tank. The guy at my lfs said something about smaller tanks being harder to control the ph for some reason. and i realize that a bigger tank means more water for the pollutants to be dispersed. do you think that a 29 gallon will make water chemistry much easier compared to my current 10 gallon.

More water volume is always easier to help control water parameters. As far as the PH problems you are not using a glass lid or cover are you?

Reason I asked is if there`s a top on it there is usually low PH due to poor gas exchange at the surface
