A cheap coral would be a Kenya tree and mushroom corals. They are super easy too.

My Kenya tree, star polyps and mushrooms are doing great under my t5s. I did add some extra LEDs to get some shimmer effect for looks. Looks great on corals

you can get just about any coral you want cheap by looking in adds and on craigslist. Try getting in a local forum. There are about 6 of us here in central IL that sell everything for $20 or less even rare sps and rbta's. If its in central IL you can surely find it near you.
