Tangs

I have a 65 gallon mixed reef and was looking for some tangs I no much of them are too big, but does anyone have any ideas besides the bristle tooth tangs. Also, could I take care of 2 of the same species if I introduce them at the same time?
I was thinking of adding a yellow tang

There aren't any tangs that can fit in a 65g sadly. The 65g tanks are 36" by 18" in footprint which doesn't give enough lateral swimming space for any tang including the bristletooth. The bristletooth really needs a 4ft long tank because having any less is stressful to the fish and usually leads to a very early death.

I would have to agree with the above. When you take into account the amount of live rock inside, it greatly reduces the amount of space available for the fish to freely swim in. And unfortunately the end result being a stressed induced, early death.

If you decide to get one anyways I'd recommend one in the bristletooth family...and just one. You will need adequate hiding room to give the tang a place to feel safe; so plenty of live rock is helpful. a yellow eye kole tang comes to mind. If you want a flash of yellow maybe a lemon angelfish will be better.

Canary wrasse are also "tang yellow." And much easier to keep in a tank your size. You can have several of them at once without issues. Save the tangs for your big tank in your future.
