I am going to build tank canopies for all of my fish tanks. Anybody have suggestions on build design etc? I have reef tanks 29 and 75 gallon. Freshwater tank 140 gallon. We just bought a bunch of power tools from a friend. Thought I would put them to good use.

This is what i did for my 29g standard. Was pretty easy, no frame. The box is the frame and its trimmed to cover cuts and seams etc. build out of mostly 3/4" oak so its got some weight.

That looks pretty nice. Do you have something to keep the lid up when you need to?

I just use a bungie cord or strap. I just finished it a few weeks ago. Finishing the stand and then staining them both. I can easily incorporate something to hold the lid open. Just havnt gotten around to it yet. Only time i need the lid held open is for a water change so the bungie cord works fine right now.
