Tank Cleaning Question

Does anyone ever clean the tubing comming from the tank? I have pr-drilled overflow, and it has a hose on it that looks like a hose from a vaccuum cleaner. I have never cleaned it (been a year). Should i take it off and try to snake it out?

Man if its that dirty then thats bad. With it being solid tube that does not see much light its probably not that dirty. Do you run a sponge prefilter on your overflow?

Yeah i have a sponge pre-filter. I dont know if the tube is dirty or not. I never checked before.
