Tank help

Hi! I'm planning on starting a 50 gallon saltwater fowlr aquarium (eventually going to be a reef tank) and I need some advice on equipment. I'm planning on having:

2 power heads
Lighting and hood
Canister filter
Power filter
Heater
Protien skimmer
Air pump and air stones

Do you recommeded that I get anything else? Also, what brands do you recommend?

No need for air stones

IMO a sump is better than those filters.

Traditionally:
A container(tank,bucket,etc...to serve as sump), overflow or drilled tank bulkheads(water drains down to sump), and a return pump(used to pump water up to display tank). Those are the bare esentials.

And to extend what ezy said. You can ditch the canister and power filters and go with just the sump + skimmer.
