Im having a tank built 48 by 36 by 18. Over flow built on back 24 across. I'm having back of tank routed quarter inch deep (teeth) one once down every inch for 24 inches across. Does that sound doable?

if i understand your post your goin to have 24 slots .25 in wide x 1 inch long that should give you around 600+ gph of flow i dont see any problems. your tank will be around 135 US gallons (y)

Thx Grizz, thats what I'm going to do. The slot will go inch deep x .25 so there should be 22 of them

the main factor will be your pipe goin into the sump i'd go with two 1 in as a min. or even better two 1.5 in im using a single 1.5 in pipe on my 180 and get close to 650 gph (home made PVC overflow) im using a mag 7 for a return pump and run it wide open with 4ft of head

I have two 1.5 pipes in over going into dump so I thk I'm on right track. Can't wait til it's done
