what do u guys keep your reef tank temps at I have mine at 81 is that to high

my tank for now is a 60g with a little live sand and then just play sand I got 80 pounds of live rock now I have a wet dry with no bio balls and a protein skimmer and uv steralizer I have power compacts 260 watts I have 1 damsels 1yellow tang 1 flame angel one yellow strip maroon clownfishand and a feather duster and a bulb anemones that the clown lives in and colony polops and some kenya tree corals and 2 fire shrimp snails and hermit crabs and some other crabs

i just got a 40g with like 6 inches of live sand and it is loaded with corals and inverts it was given to me by a friend she had it for 3 years there is a brain coral wellsophyllia and a platygyra brain worm coral green striped mushrooms and red mushrooms yellow colony polyp and button polyp and some type of hard coral not sure what it is also alot of kenya tree oh ya and 2 giant star fish

i keep mine the same temp and all my fish dont seem to mind it

Mine goes from 79 at night to 80 or 81 during the day. everyone seems to be happy.

79-81 for me
Some people are like slinkies...they serve no real purpose yet can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs!:p

Mine is set to 78 in the night and 79-80 in the day.
55gallons, emperor 400 hang on filter, 150watts heater, Coralife 256watt light, 60 LB Live Sand, 43 LB Live Rock, ProClear Aquatics Pro 150 Wet/Dry Filter with Skimmer, 12 Blue Leg Hermit Crab, 2 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp , 1 Algae Blenny, 3 Green chromis, 3 Peppermint Shrimp, 4 Scarlet Reef Hermit Crab, 3 Emerald Mithrax Crab, 1 Porcelain Anemone Crab, 1 Feather Duster, True Bulb Anemone, 3 Ocellaris Clownfish, 15 Margarita
Snails, 2 Nudibranch, 6 Astraea, 5 cerith snails and 1 Japanese Pistol Shrimp. Updated 02/02/06

78-80 during the winter and up to 83 during the summer on real hot days.
78-79 is where I would like the tank to be all them time.
9/02-125 REEF, 125 lbs LR,LS 4x160 VHO, Reef Devil /Sump, Fuge
7/03-55 FOWLR 60lb LR, 50 lb SD sand 2x40 NO strip light, Reef Devil/sump, Fuge

Not to sound like a broken record, my PH's keep the temps at 78 at night, and the lights add a degree or 2 to make it 79-80 during the day. I have a heater, it never runs though.
45G Reef - 65#'s of LR, 3" sand bed, Fluval 304 filled with LR rubble, (2) MJ900, SeaClone 100 protein skimmer with MJ1200
Fish - Ocellaris Clown, Royal Gramma, Purple Firefish, Coral Beauty, Blue Neon Goby
Coral - Xenia, Devil's Hand Leather, Toadstool Leather, Green Hairy Mushrooms, Zoanthids
Inverts - (2) Peppermint Shrimp, Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp, (5) Turbo Snails, (4) Nassarius Snails, (10) Blue Leg Hermits, Emerald Crab, (3) Scarlett Crabs, some small starfish(hitchhikers)

65 gal reef
2 PC's 192W each , 20 gal sump/fuge
4 false clowns, 2 firefish, cardinal, midas blennie, toadstool, zoos, shrooms, trumpet coral, torch, pagoda, frogspawn, poylps, red open brain, devils hand, hermits, snails, 3 cleaner shrimp, coral banded and a emerald crab.
