Temperature out of control

SO I put 4 bags of cold water floating, got the temp down to about 81, working on risers now

Why dont you just get your lights on a timer?? Have them turn on for a few hours in the morning when your home, then shut off for the majority of the day when youre gone, then come back on later. Cutting back on the light cycle should help with cooling the tank down, also open the lids a bit to vent the tank

I'm a bit late but I've been having the exact same issue. I run a fan on the back and leave the hood open all day while my whites are on. I've been going no higher than 79 - 80. Probs average about 80. Just my 2cents I'm getting a chiller soon thank god!
