Test kits

Can anyone recommend a brand of test kits for testing aquarium water? I have an API right now and have been testing my water.. According to my kit my nitrates are 0 but when my LFS tested my water they said it was at 20 ppm... What brand can I trust?

Check the date of the test kit. API test kits a very inaccurate. Should invest in a Red Sea test kit.

salifert test kits are very good a little expensive but good. I'm surprised about your api testing 0 I've found that they tend to test higher then the salifert.

I'll second that.... API is fine for getting you through your cycle, but for reefkeeping, you need better accuracy. I use Red Sea kits as well....
