I was looking at Aragalive (I believe) for my new substrate. I was contemplating using some live sand, but I have to make sure my jaws can make a good home. So I of course am going to go with the rock like substrate. I'll do half one weekend, and then the other half two weeks after that. So is the aragalive a good substrate? It's not a nitrate trap is it?

With regular cleaning it should not cause your nitrates to climb. You might want to add another 30-40lbs of LR is you are worried about nitrates. With enoguh LR it will not be as big of concern.

I want to add more LR, but that CC is hard to keep clean even with my gravel vac.
