Is this enough light to use in a 30 g tank or is it to much? Will that be enough light to buy any coral and anenome? Thank you!

OH my. I would drop that back to a 175W MH bulb kit. ALso be aware of the differences between probe and pulse start. Some bulbs will only work with a specific style of starting.

I would go into more detail but im fuzzy on the specifics.

My vote goes to the 250 as long as you have a way to mount it higher than normal. Maybe buy some cabinet grade plywood and build a pendant type enclosure? Hang it over the tank and have the tank open top? Just a thought. It would look nice.

hehehe, reminds me of an old saying from my people. Indian build small fire and stand close, stay warm. White man build big fire and stand far away complaining about the heat.
