The pump on my HOB fuge went out and the water level in the fuge was low enuf to expose the top 1/3rd of my caleupra (sp?). Of course it's greyish looking now.

Is the hole batch lost. Seems like when I tried to start the pump up again, I got grey stuff in the tank floating around, so I turned it off again.

I'm thinking 2 choices 1) try to remove the top layer and deal w/the bit of floating dead stuff for a bit, or 2) remove all the macroalgae and just have rock rubble in there since that caleupra is so hard to find.

Gotta do something soon since I'll be leaving town for 5 days soon.

Input pls.
