tiny spherical organisms all over glass

I have these things that just suddenly appeared when I did a water change ... I may have disturbed the sand bed?!

Hard to take a picture. They are the size of a large piece of sugar grain with little hair like tenticles that create a circle but don't cover the whole body. I have approx 100 of such creatures ...

any ideas?
