To clean or not to clean???

I normally clean both sides of my tanks glass as well as the front...But I leave the back glass alone. Problem is I have algea growing on there...seems my tang likes to pick at it from time to time. Is there any harm in letting the back glass go?
Just curious....

no lots of people do it. I used to on my old tank.
NownI clean mine because I can see all four sides of the tank.
