To or not to? Subrate

Switch from 70 gal to 90 and decided I didn't want the black lava subrate so my tank doesn't have any subrate and I think so far this is awesome cuz poop extra food etc been able to scoop / vacuum out np any thoughts?

Next reef I do is gonna be bare bottom for exactly those reasons. Only reason I would add substrate to a reef anymore is if your planning on any stock that requires it.

One side note ever watch a shrimp walk across bare glass looks like a deer on ice lol
