toadstool leather need protein skimmer?

i've got my eye on a certain toadstool at the store, and was wondering if it would do well for a month or so without a protein skimmer. From what i understand they're pretty hardy and it's not gonna be a big deal.

Should be fine, just make sure you keep up with your water changes and run carbon and/or polyfilter or the like. Many people run softy and mixed reefs without ever running a protien skimmer, I think reef tanks benefit from one, but they are not an absolute necessity.
