Too many water changes possible?

I am just wondering if you can do too many water changes in a week. I need to lower my calcium and my ph and raise my alkalinity. I think doing a lot of water changes will help stabilize everything. I just did a 12 gallon water change on my 30 gallon with 8 gallon refugium. How much more water changes can I do?

How long has it been since the last water change? You don't want to alter water parameters too quickly...especially pH. I would probably do smaller changes of maybe 5 gal and try not to alter the pH more than .2-.3 in a 24 hr period. If you start to see any signs of stress in the tank, stop and let things rest for a few days. This may be overly cautious, but it's better than losing livestock.
