Too much Corraline Algae!

Hi all,

I've had my tank now since August, and I have a question for you.

How do you stop the corraline algae from growing so fast? I hear that it's cool to have, but now it's like a dark purple all over my back glass. It's also on my filter and skimmer. It's starting to grow on the front of my glass, and I have to clean it back all the time.

What should I do?

Nothing you really can do, coralline is good to have around. It keeps nuisance algae like cyano and diatoms off your reef. If you dont want it scrape it off and ship it to me , i can always use more

Yep, scrap it. If the tanks is glass a cheap easy method is to get a piece of PVC pipe and put a slit in the end about 45 degrees then insert a razor blade to scrap the sides. If the tank is acrylic you must be much more careful and use plastic scrapers or an old credit cards often works.
