I have a 6g fluval edge. I manually topped it off this morning and I've already losy about a half inch of water. I don't fully understand auto top offs so I was hoping someone could enlighten me. Are there any ATOs that would be compatible with the odd fluval edge dimensions? And how much money should I expect to spend on one of these devices?

for a tank that small I doubt a regular ATO would work
you could build a easy gravity feed topoff using a 2ltr pepsi bottle and a 1/4 inch hose and a metal coat hanger for a hanger, it's on the line of a hamster water bottle only difference is the hose is submerged in tank when hose gets above waterline it fills till hose is submerged again
if you google do it yourself auto top off there's a few different ideas

A glass top would help cut down on evaporation. In my 3g I was having to top off daily until I put a glass top on the tank. Now it's every 3 - 4 days.

I have the Elos ATO for just about a year now. Works good for my smaller tank.
