So im having a slight issue with my setup configuration. Im currently using a penguin hob 200 for water circulation, problem is my lights are coming in this week and has 2 inch clearance over the tank with mountin legs, it is a 14 inch fixture width by 36 long, 2" high, my tanks slightly smaller then the width at 12 5/8"

I have two dilemmas. 1 being the penguin filter needs 2 3/4" clearance above tank and under light. 2 how can i cheaply ditch the hob? Seeing as anything sitting in my display tank now that sits more then 2" out of the water is not an option?

Update, added a sump, and switched to distilled from tap! Ammonia spike is starting to slowly come down!!! Was at 4 two days ago, todays reading 1ppm! Lights are going to be here friday, then waiting on my pumps from ebay :( probably gonna be another month before they get here, at least untill then my tank will be sturdy, kinda sucks that i cant put anything in eveen after it cycles.. As ill have almost no water movement untill my pumps come in! Using the hob to cycle the tank, i have a small pump coming in i plan on using as a powerhead which should be here anyday, and i ordered my 550 gph pump today

Look in my other thread in salwater and reef aquaria

So my tank is 80% done! Got my light today:) and some more liverock and a powerhead :) any ideas on scaping it? Or do yall like the look i have ??

$20 for that! If you have a Walmart near you they sell 5 gallon jugs in the fishing isle. Buying a RO/DI or at least an RO system would be cheaper in the end (saving gas, money, time, etc.)

T5 HO 6 bulb, one taotronic LED or other kind of strong 3 watt LED fixture & MH (heat issue).

Do they really sell 5 gallon jugs in the fishing aisle ?

Haha oh yeah? Well I'm honored! But I'm sure there are many here that have amazing talent and a good eye. I've seen some awesome tanks here

Anyway. I like it. You have some nice archways and caves. Looks very natural. Great job IMO. I'd tell ya the truth don't worry about that lol.

Thank you very much! I didnt plan any of the scape TBH ! Just started with that real big nice piece of dry lace rock onthe left and some base rock, the 2 fiji tonga peices i bought from my lfs and the rest came from my ten gallon, im curious about what to do with the large shaded spot under that rock.. Low flow rate, and i see my nassarius in the sb under it and thats it usually

So im stocked about 90% ! I went to my lfs yesterday, and to my liking, i found a black clown ! He was 20$ and he had about 15 nems in hes reef/frag tank. I asked him abiut them, he said if you buy a clown ill give you a nem! I was like whoa really! So i scored:)
Got a condy the size of a baseball!
