I'm setting up 2 20 gallon quarantine tanks. And was wondering would it be ok to just use tap water treated with prime?

Quarantine tanks will have dim lighting and frequent water changes, so I'm trying to get away from constantly making ro/di water

This is fine if your tap water does not have heavy metals. Although some tap water can be almost poisness to fish and corals, if you have the ro water I would use it. Having said that I used tap water for my first tank for 7 months, everything looked great, but the algea was impossible to control

The best thing is to use water from the display tank so that all the livestock gets or stays used to it. Just use the water from a water change.
