trying to distinguish between hair algae and dirt?

I have a bunch of LR and some cichlad lace in my tank, but it's covered with what looks like little strands of dust resembling hair? anyway to remove this with chemicals or critters?

Is this stuff, light tan-ish in color? Like fuzz on your rocks?

If so, could be build up due to low water flow. You can use a turkey baster to blow debris off the rocks before water changes. After a few weeks of turkey basting before you do a change and adding more water flow - it should go away. I had this issue recently, if it's the same stuff.

Can you get a pic?
