Take a look at bulk reef supply. They have dry rock there at a very affordable price. You will have to cure it before it goes in your tank though as it will produce a ton of ammonia at first.

We all make mistakes. I myself, have lost over$1000 in fish. That being said, I've learned many things. No tangs in anything less then a 75. Only one pair of clowns in anything less then a 120. If you have three and I believe you said they were three different species?, then you need to return two and get one that matches the one you want to keep (this is especially true if all three are different). If three are all the same, return one because they will end up killing him for sure.

I have just read thru this entire post and watched everyone beat the dead horse. It was like seeing a train wreck about to happen and not looking away. I too have a 40B and use Live Aquaria and advice I've gotten here to make informed decisions when stocking my tank. Some people have to get burned before they learn. Just my 2 cents.

Should have returned it while you were givin the advice. Never put tangs in a tank that isn't big enough. It'll only cause problems for your tank like ich! I also have a 40g. And I am also 18! The best thing about this forum is getting free advice that will only help you become successful in the hobby. Take the advice given from those experienced reefers. Otherwise, stuff like this happens.

What's your ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite?

How long did you have your tang? How fast did you add fish? Did you at anything? How did you acclimate?
