Upside down jellyfish

I just bought an upside jellyfish for my reef tank. I was told at the lfs that he is reef safe and generally hardy. When I returned home, I looked on the internet and read that he is not reef safe. Does anyone know if I should release this guy into my tank?

I would think it would be the community moreso than the reef at risk. It seems that jellies and their stingers would hurt fish. I wouldn't trust it, personally! Good luck with it if you decide to keep it though. They're beautiful.

I would not think any jellyfish could survive the current in a reef tank. They generally do best in circular tanks with a moderate current. In a reef tank they would probably end up stuck in a corner or wedged inbetween rocks, unable to move. Good luck!
