Hey guys what are your thoughts about buying used sand. I was thinking of buying some used sand from lfs.

Sand out of anyone else's system is a trap. It ends up getting filled with uneaten food and poop... Just get an aggregate sand or even pool filter sand as it will become live over time via the cycle.

Yeah, unless it's sand that I've specifically taken care of, rinsed, and stored I'd not use it.

I've taken used sand out of my old tanks and put them in the new...
Here's what I did...
Rinsed and constantly stirred the sand in buckets until the water pouring over the edge of the bucket is 100% clear and even when stirred no sediments/fish waste can be seen.
Take about 10 min per 5g bucket and constantly rinse them, then let the excess water drain.
But do NOT dry your sand because you can kill off beneficial bacteria.
