Veggies for my tank cleaners???

I was told that I could put brocoli or zukine in my tank for my tank cleaners to munch on...is that safe? Will that disrupt my water levels?

I dont have much allege built up yet, so the guy at the local fish store told me I could do that so that the little fellas had something to eat. Is that a good thing to do??

i buy those algae wafers at wal mart
and put 2 broken up disks in my tank every week
all my hermits get a good meal once a week
funny as hell seeing 4-6 on one peice of algae trying to get their share
also on occasion i put in a small pinch of sinking pellets

You can do that. Don't let it break down. I would remove it after a day or so.
