1. Can I add a sump to an established existing tank?
2. my tank is glass (don't want to drill a hole) what size overflow box do I need?
3. What size return pump do I need?

Tank is a 26 gallon bowfront with 250w metal halide 2x65w antic powercompacts

space is somewhat limeted because of the small bowfront stand but I think I have an idea with a shelf behind the tank

anyone with any ideas speak up I will consider nearly anything

Will post pics later tonight

you can add a sump to an existing tank with np.

the overflow box should be about 5x - 10x the size of your tank + sump. so if your tank is 26g and sump is 10g = 36g, you should have 180 gph or above, at least thats what others have been saying.

the return pump would have to match your overflow box AFTER you consider the head loss (loss from being pumped up against gravity).
