Started having a green algae bloom on my sand. What should I do. My tank is about 3 months old. Someone told me to leave the light off for a full day. I did that but it seems to come back real fast. Please help me.

Have you tested your water for nitrates, phosphates? If not do this and post your numbers for us.
What type of water are you using?
Tanks size and do you have LR, Ls or crushed coral, typr of filtration
