Water

I was wondering if it would be ok to use water from my well. It has high iron in it, and a slight yellow tint. I am not at all worried about algae or cyano. Im just wondering if it will hurt the fish. Another member on here uses similar water in his reef tank with no problems. Just wanted some thoughts, since making trips back and forth for RO water is really getting old.

I don't think it's a good idea, the fish will likely be weakened by the heavy metals in the water. It is liable to be hard on their kidneys and liver to filter that stuff out. While you may not be concerned with algae...I suspect you would experience an algae bllom if you started using water with that much iron in it. I would recommend an iron filter for your house, then you own RO/DI unit under the sink
