I've had my tank for a little over 2 months. Other than water changes, when should I start seeing build up of bad stuff like ammonium and such?
I have 2 yellow tail damsels 2 3 striped damsels 1 blue devil pincushion and pencil urchins 55 gal tank 304 fluvial canister about 30LBs LR regular fl light (I might go buy a new light tomorrow) i have well water as well.... |

You shouldnt see ammonia again as long as you are careful. At worst, you should see nitrate, and again that's if you are not careful. Keep up with regular water changes and dont' overfeed. You might also want to look into getting a RO/DI for the best water possible. Well water varies from area to area, so I cant guess how good it is directly from the well. You might see algae beacause of phosphates in your well water.

I totally agree that if you do your weekly PWC you should never see a build up. It`s up to you.
