ok..from my understanding, higher alkaline will precipitate phosphorous.

My alkaline is at 160, Ca is at 450, so why on earth, even after stuffing the fluvals full of phosguard, do I have phosphorous readings that are off the charts? Nitrates are at 10.
 
Check all the additives you put in the tank. I had a similar problem and it turned out I was adding a pH buffer which drove my Alkalinity up.
May not be the problem but its a start.
 
LFS is so lame that they only test for ammonia and nitrites.

I will have to buy another testkit somewhere.
